Also for Blue Cross and Blue Shield Alabama providers- be aware that effective October 1st 2012, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama providers will have a new policy in effect that will make it mandatory for all payments to providers to be set up electronically. This means that for Alabama Blue Cross Blue Shield providers who received their payments via paper checks previously will be forced to receive the payments electronically instead. This is a very effective way for providers to receive their payments.
